It's completely normal to feel a little nervous. Your first session isn't about having all the answers, it's simply about starting the conversation.

Here are a few simple things that can help you feel more prepared, and more at ease, before you begin.

A Few Things That Can Help

📝 Jot down what's on your mind. A few thoughts beforehand, what's been troubling you, or anything you'd like to bring up, can make it easier to get started
🏡 Find a quiet, private space. Somewhere you feel comfortable and won't be interrupted helps you settle in and speak openly
💭 Set realistic expectations. One session won't solve everything, and that's fine, it's the beginning of a process, not a fix
🗣️ Be honest, not perfect. There's no right or wrong way to show up, being open, even if it feels messy, is exactly what the process is for

Preparation doesn't mean having it all worked out, it just means giving yourself the best possible start.
